Coordinates play a significant role in geometry. Coordinates are a set of points which represent the exact position of points in the coordinate plane.

The coordinate plane is the 2D plane formed by the perpendicular intersection of the X-axis and Y-axis.

Coordinates are represented by (X, Y)

X is called abscissa.

Y is called ordinate.

Coordinates of p are (1,1)

There are four quadrants in the Coordinate plane.

1st quadrant (+x,+y)

2nd quadrant(-x,+y)

3rd quadrant(-x,-y)

4th quadrant(+x,-y)
